I am so unbelievably annoyed. Words cannot express. “I didn’t know these people existed. Where were they when Bush was president?” WHAT? Give me a frickin’ break. Where were YOU when Bush was president? Oh, nevermind. Just because people weren’t protesting en masse when Bush signed the USA PATRIOT Act doesn’t make them ANY less right for protesting now. Better late than never. It wasn’t even like it was explicitly an anti-Obama rally, even though the apathy-advocating, racism-promoting, entertainment-based-society-building mainstream media (who want to distract you by making you think it’s all a war between “left” and “right”) said it was. It wasn’t about party politics AT ALL. Sure, there were some some anti-Obama signs here and there, but only because his administration is currently in power (by the way) and as such are kind of, you know, IN CHARGE of stuff that happens ‘n stuff. The majority of the people there protesting were protesting against out-of-control government spending. Yes, I knowwwww, the ridiculous spending did not start with Obama’s presidency, but you know what? There is a point when people decide that enough is enough. And that is EXACTLY what is happening. Just because the Democrats just so happen to be in power doesn’t make We The People’s discontent a left/right thing. The only reason it even MATTERS which party is in power is because the media MAKES it matter (to sheeple who feed off of them, anyways. baaa.). It’s NOT about left or right. It’s NOT about race. So, idiots, get over yourselves, get out of the BS left/right paradigm and start looking at things the way they really are. <whiny_voice>But, but waa waa waa Republicans waa waa Democrats waaaaa Bush Cheney waa waa WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!<whiny_voice>
The endless, childish finger-pointing and warped, media-induced sense of entitlement has gone on long enough. You want change? You make the change, starting with yourself. You don’t vote for someone else to change everything for the better and make your life awesome. You have to get out there and do it yourself, and HEAVEN FORBID that would involve missing an episode of LOST or Desperate Housewives (OOMGGGG!!). But that is precisely what the hundreds of thousands (if not millions, it was all seriously wayyy under-reported, which you can tell if you watch any aerial video footage of the protest at all) of people were doing out there in the District of Corruption on 9/12, so go drink your fluoride and your Kool-Aid and eat your corn syrup, MSG, and hydrogenated fats, then curl up in a ball on your comfy couch and watch your favorite episodes on the telescreen and listen to career politicians spout holy doublespeak at you while the Ministry of Peace wages an illegitimate war against Emmanuel Goldstein in Afghanistan, Iraq, and who-knows-where-next (read: Iran and Pakistan, then Syria and Lebanon after that, no doubt). <sarcasm> After all, “War is Peace; Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength.” </sarcasm> My, my, my, the world is quickly turning into some kind of real-life Bradbury/Huxley/Orwellian dystopian Terry Gilliam film with a screenplay penned by Alex Kurtzman (with free popcorn and an awesome soundtrack by Trent Reznor and starring Keanu Reeves)!!!
End of rant.
^_^
P.S. This most likely wasn’t directed at you, it’s just me, Dallin, verbally unleashing my psychotic inner-beast (complete with horns and steam coming out my ears) on people who criticize EVERYTHING that others do (in attempts to effect change) while painting every issue with a disgusting Republican vs. Democrat and/or black vs. white overtone. Not that it does any good, because nobody will read it. But at least it helped to quell my thermonuclear rage.
